The BIOSTARS project took part in an online training session organised by the Interreg Euro-MED Programme on 18 March 2026, focused on the ISE Mission and involving Thematic Projects from Calls 04 and 05.
Representing BIOSTARS, Dionisios Papaggelis (CERTH, project coordinator), together with Mariana Velázquez and Marta González (CTA), attended the session, which provided key insights into upcoming programme activities and collaboration opportunities.
During the session, participants were introduced to the Mentoring & Twinning (M&T) Programme, an initiative designed to transfer project results and outputs to Mediterranean stakeholders, enabling replication in different local contexts. The programme will include activities such as workshops, training sessions, peer mentoring and exchanges between municipalities, offering BIOSTARS a valuable opportunity to scale its impact across the region .
The session also addressed ongoing peer-review processes and the development of new indicators aimed at better measuring projects’ contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This approach seeks to move beyond global monitoring and focus on concrete, project-level impact .
In addition, participants were introduced to capacity-building tools such as the Euro-MED Academy and its online training platform, which will support knowledge sharing and the long-term capitalisation of project results.
BIOSTARS’ participation in this session reinforces its commitment to continuous learning, collaboration and maximising its contribution to sustainable development and innovation in Mediterranean rural areas.
