On 25 September 2026, BIOSTARS partners Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (CTA) and Asociación para el Desarrollo de la Comarca Aljarafe-Doñana (ADAD) participated in the event “Activar. Avanzar. Transformar”, organised in Seville within the framework of the Shared Agenda of Territorial Innovation Centres (CITs).
The initiative brings together different territories to explore new opportunities to activate the natural capital of rural areas and support the transformation of their productive models through innovation, cooperation and sustainable development.
The event provided a space to share experiences, connect territories and discuss the potential of transformative projects from a joint perspective. The programme combined a strategic European outlook with practical initiatives addressing key areas for rural development, including integrated and multifunctional forest management, bio-industrial areas and regenerative agriculture.
Participants also discussed financing, investment and impact as key elements for turning innovative ideas into projects capable of generating economic, social and environmental benefits in rural territories. A dedicated round table on the Shared Agenda brought together representatives of several Territorial Innovation Centres from the RedCIT network to exchange experiences and explore future avenues for cooperation.
The participation of CTA and ADAD offered an opportunity to connect the BIOSTARS approach with other territorial innovation initiatives addressing challenges similar to those faced by rural Mediterranean areas. BIOSTARS promotes the development of bioeconomy start-up villages by fostering entrepreneurship, social innovation and stronger local innovation ecosystems.
Initiatives such as the Shared Agenda of Territorial Innovation Centres create valuable opportunities to identify synergies, connect stakeholders and exchange approaches that can help unlock the potential of rural territories. These links contribute to BIOSTARS’ mission of promoting sustainable and innovative development pathways adapted to local needs across the Mediterranean.
