BIOSTARS participates in FIDER 2026 to promote the future of the rural economy from Seville

17/02/2026

BIOSTARS continues to strengthen its position in the main forums for debate on sustainable rural development.

Last week, Marta Macías, innovation consultant at CTA and member of the BIOSTARS project, attended the 1st International Forum on the Rural Economy (FIDER) in Seville, a strategic meeting held at Fibes that brought together experts, government bodies and economic agents to discuss the future of the rural world.

The forum, promoted by FIDER Global Forum, focused on some of the major challenges facing rural areas: depopulation, ageing and the loss of basic services. During the opening ceremony, the organisers emphasised the need to develop integrated solutions that guarantee the profitability and habitability of rural areas, committing to the modernisation of essential services and new economic models that strengthen both traditional activities and innovative entrepreneurship.

BIOSTARS’ involvement in FIDER is key to identifying synergies, sharing best practices and advancing the construction of bioeconomy start-up villages that act as a lever for transformation in rural environments.
