The BIOSTARS project participated in the Interreg Euro-MED Innovative Sustainable Economy (ISE) Mission community gathering held in Athens, Greece, from 19 to 21 May 2026, within the framework of the 9th edition of the Circle the Med Forum.
The event brought together representatives from Thematic Projects, Governance Projects, institutional stakeholders and innovation actors from across the Mediterranean to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaboration and explore pathways towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
Representing BIOSTARS, partners from CERTH, ANETEL, CTA and CUEIM attended the event, joining discussions and collaborative activities organised within the Interreg Euro-MED Innovative Sustainable Economy (ISE) Mission community.
During the event, BIOSTARS contributed to the Industrial Transition thematic working group alongside other Interreg Euro-MED projects, participating in discussions aimed at identifying common challenges, exchanging experiences and laying the foundations for future joint initiatives. These collaborative sessions will contribute to the development of thematic white papers and strengthen synergies across the ISE Mission community.
The project was also represented during the Marketplace Village session dedicated to showcasing the progress of Call 04 and Call 05 projects. This interactive format enabled participants to present their achievements, exchange good practices and explore opportunities for collaboration with other initiatives addressing sustainability challenges in Mediterranean territories.
In addition, BIOSTARS partners actively contributed to other programme activities. CERTH participated in the Mentoring & Twinning Programme testimonials session, sharing experiences related to knowledge transfer and project replication, while ANETEL took part in discussions highlighting successful collaboration and capacity-building actions within the ISE Mission framework.
BIOSTARS’ participation in this community gathering reinforces its commitment to cooperation, knowledge exchange and the development of innovative solutions that support entrepreneurship, sustainable economic development and bioeconomy-driven transformation in Mediterranean rural areas.
