As part of the BIOSTARS project (Interreg Euro-MED), the first BIOSTARS Local Hub Meeting was held on 8 December 2025 at the Amyntaio City Hall. The event was hosted by CERTH in collaboration with the Municipality of Amyntaio.
During the meeting, the BIOSTARS project was presented, highlighting its objectives, key activities and its role in supporting circular bioeconomy, innovation and entrepreneurship development in rural areas. Participants engaged in an open discussion, exchanging views on local needs and exploring opportunities for future collaboration within the framework of the project.
The meeting brought together 28 participants, including representatives from local authorities, organizations, enterprises and members of the local community, marking an important step in the establishment of the BIOSTARS Local Hub in Amyntaio.
This initiative reinforces the project’s commitment to fostering sustainable local development through bio-based and circular solutions, strengthening the connection between research, entrepreneurship and local ecosystems.
A local online newspaper has published an article about the event, showcasing how BIOSTARS is connecting research and entrepreneurship to build bioeconomy start-up villages across the Mediterranean.
