The Startup Village Forum (SVF) is a flagship initiative of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC).
The BIOSTARS project took part in the European Startup Village Forum 2025, held on 29 October in Brussels and organised by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC). This high-level event brought together researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and rural stakeholders to discuss how to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems across Europe’s rural areas.
Discussions throughout the Forum emphasised the need to support rural innovation ecosystems beyond the traditional concept of startups, recognising the value of creativity-led initiatives and cross-sectoral collaboration as key drivers of territorial transformation.
The participation of BIOSTARS representatives also provided an opportunity to connect with related initiatives, such as the FOODCoop project, with which future collaboration opportunities will be explored.
